Honoring Black History Month is just as much about celebrating the achievements of today as it as about remembering the past — and this segment does both. I came across former NFL cornerback Shawn Springs' invention as I was researching stories to kick off Black History Month and coupled it with telling viewers about an event that's ultimately about our freedom.
